Where Therapy can Help: |

Many people experience emotional difficulties at some point in their lives. When in distress they often turn to family and friends. However, this is not always enough and sometimes professional help is needed. Counselling has been found to be helpful for a wide range of emotional problems - such as the following: |

My Qualifications: |
| I trained at the WPF Counselling & Psychotherapy institute in central London. Recognised as one of the leading training organisations in the United Kingdom - with a reputation for clinical and academic excellence. I graduated with the University of Surrey Postgraduate Diploma in Psychodynamic Studies and Counselling. I am a member of the ‘British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy’ and registered with the ‘United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy and Counselling’. Both of these professional bodies (BACP & UKCP) ensure a strict code of ethics and the highest standards of practice and confidentiality. | ||
About Therapy: |
A psychotherapeutic counsellor will listen and help you to understand how past experiences may influence the way you feel about the what is happening in the present. How for instance issues surrounding feelings of self-worth or self-confidence may be impacting upon your life. Together with the therapist you can reflect on how you respond to events in your life, and how you relate to yourself and to others. The counsellor will not tell you what to do, or give advice, but will help you to make your own choices. |
Location & Fees: |
My practice is located in a quiet street in Streatham SW16 - free parking is available and it is convenient for public transport. The fee for regular weekly sessions is normally between £30 and £40. I also keep a number of reduced fee sessions for those on a low income. |

Beginning Therapy: |
It is not uncommon to feel a certain amount of anxiety when first seeking therapeutic help. With this in mind it may be useful to think about the initial appointment as an opportunity for us to meet each other, to explore the problem that is worrying you, and to discuss how counselling might be useful in working through this problem. If you would like to know more about how therapy can help please get in touch. I can be contacted by telephone or email. |
